How Can I Pick A Tool?
If I want to go shopping, I want to go shopping for a new dress, not a drill. But I decided to buy my husband a tool for Christmas and I was very happy that I could get all the help I needed in this department from Black and Decker. A friend had suggested that the Black and Decker Firestorm tool combo kit would be the perfect Christmas gift, so I decided to go for it.
I decided to go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving, black Friday, and as soon as I talked to the salesperson at Sears, I knew that my friend was right, the Black and Decker Firestorm tool combo kit was the ideal gift. And since this day was full of wonderful sales, the price was great at less than $170. I had been thinking about the Craftsman drill that had a trim saw and flashlight that cost about $160, but now I could get a tool with so many more features for almost the same price.
This tool kit is a handyman’s dream. The plastic case I carried out of the store had a huge assortment of cordless tools and accessories, all at a fraction of what they would have cost individually. I had a hard time carrying this big heavy kit, but I knew it would be worth the effort once I saw my husband open his present.
Of course, I had to hide this great gift for almost a month until Christmas arrived. I hid it carefully, but my husband pokes into everything in the house, so I just hoped he would not find it before the holidays.
All of the struggle to get the tool in the car and hidden for all that time was well worth it when he opened the present. He was absolutely thrilled with his new toy.
The one feature of the Black and Decker Firestorm collection that my husband finds a use for almost every day is the cordless drill. He also loves the reciprocating saw and the trim saw so much that he looks around for stuff to cut. I have to keep everything out of his way. The kit also comes with a powered screwdriver and a flashlight. We found out the hard way how important it is to have a flashlight around when you are doing construction. It would have helped us find lots of hidden wires when we were in the middle of our home remodeling.
The only problem is that my husband wants to use this tool every chance he gets, so he has no patience waiting for the battery to recharge. So now he has to plan his projects a little better so he does some cutting or drilling and then gives it a rest while he plans or takes a break.
This is by far the best gift I have given my husband, and I don’t know if I am going to be able to outdo myself next year.

The folks at Black and Decker have made the chore of picking out tools for your husband and his diy projects a whole lot simpler. The hardest part of it all was hiding it from my husband until Christmas time. I had it hidden away and had to keep my mouth shut about what a great gift I had bought him. I didn’t want him snooping around the house and accidentally finding it.
This kit is includes a flashlight and an array of cordless tools. The flashlight can be helpful for many diy projects. This would of come in handy when my husband discovered wiring during an actual construction project. Now with his flashlight handy at all times, things should be easier. This is just the start of their amazing collection.
Once my husband opened his gift, he can’t live without his Black and Decker Firestorm kit. He loves the trim saw and the reciprocating saw too. There is also a great alkaline-powered screwdriver that he uses often too. Sometimes the charger takes a few hours to charge the batteries and this can be disappointing for him. He just needs to make sure to plan his projects ahead of time and have the drill fully charged.
All in all he and I are both very satisfied with the outcome of this Christmas!
